Between the Grand Prix de la Marne 1936 and the Grand Prix du Comminges 1936, the regulations were amended at the request of competitors and requires that headlights, fenders and starter can be dismantled. Delahaye and Talbot see is a way to regain their competitiveness undermined by the Bugatti Type 57 G. 

But the Grand Prix du Comminges, face three Talbot and to eight Delahaye, Bugatti brings two Types 59, simply equipped with atmospheric engine of Type 57 G. Reading the settlement between the lines, Bugatti only realized it would adhere to the letter, if not in mind! Delahaye and Talbot deal still claim for the principle and the organizers must use a compromise. 

The race takes place in two rounds of twenty laps each. In great shape Jean-Pierre Wimille dominates the first round he wins ahead of his teammate Robert Benoist, leaving Robert Dreyfus and Talbot more than a minute. In the second round, the scenario is repeated but this time Robert Dreyfus, and Robert Benoist shall resign, leaving Jean-Pierre Wimille to win ahead of "Raph" and his private Talbot. In general, by adding the times of two runs, Wimille is the winner ahead of Talbot works car of Heldé. 

For 1937 despite a precarious financial situation, Bugatti considers that the course is necessary. The races of the new Formule Sport him hope.
